Back in the mid 1800’s, Henry David Thoreau observed that Americans are just too busy. He stepped away from the fray and headed into the woods to write his philosophical masterpiece Walden. Even then, he understood that we’d all be better off if we would slow down and simplify our lives.
A little time by the fire
After 25 years of busyness, our founder Michael Miller took a sabbatical of his own. Spending much of his time in the backyard, he paused to ponder, reconnect with family and friends, and lend a hand to colleagues. This new mindset sparked an idea: couldn’t everyone benefit from a pause? A little time by the fire?
