Roasted Chestnuts Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. fresh-shelled chestnuts
  • 1 tsp sea salt

Preheat your fire pit. Prep the chestnuts by making shallow cuts with a sharp paring knife along the flat side of the shell. Distribute the chestnuts in a cast iron pan, scored side up, taking care not to overcrowd the pan. Leave the pan over the fire pit for 5–7 minutes or until the nuts begin to release a faint nutty aroma.

Toss the nuts around the pan and keep them over the fire pit for another 5–7 minutes. To serve, take the pan off the heat and transfer the chestnuts to a serving dish. Add a pinch of sea salt to taste and serve hot.
